Now the Miami Heat can make their own decisions, to win or not to win. They’ve got the tools, but may need the time. Finally the Miami Heat open on their home floor against the Orlando Magic, who certainly through their words both by Howard and Van Gundy have not shown any fear for the New Superstar Team. Initially the Magic may be right, but Wade, Lebron James and Chris Bosh will make you eat some words. This is one of the biggest sports events in Miami history. Time is on their side. The Magic may not look so Magical as the season continues. There’s a new NBA team in Florida, Your Miami Heat.
It’s getting harder and harder to believe in Magic, especially when Magic is attached to the word Orlando. The Orlando Magic must feel like they are seeing horror films, because they are. That said, the Magic has to believe that although no NBA team has come back from an 0 and 3 deficit, one day a team will do it, why not the Orlando Magic? There are other Boston teams that have very recently blown an enormous lead (think Boston, think hockey). KG says no, but Dwight Howard says yes. We’ll see how these NBA Playoffs go. Play Ball!! Magic, Please Play Ball!!
The taste of losing last year’s NBA finals has lingered with the Orlando Magic. Now with 2 series down, they’ re unbeaten. There are 2 more to go and the Magic look better than ever, and better than all the rest….UNBEATEN. The last series versus the Atlanta Hawks was the most lopsided 4 game sweep in NBA Playoff history. The Magic are ready for rings, and are running rings around everyone. Stan Van Gundy said he thinks his guys “pretty well bring it every night. ” If we’re better than you, we’re going to win most of the time”. I’m so excited to see either the Boston Celtics or Cleveland Cavaliers come to Orlando. Bring it on.
By anyone’s account, the Orlando Magic are now the team to beat to get the big prize in the NBA Playoffs. Thursday night, the Orlando Magic TEAM beat the Atlanta Hawks, the group that plays for only 3 periods. The Orlando Magic right now are the only unbeaten team left in the playoffs. They are playing better than Kobe’s Lakers, or James’s Cavs. Watch out folks, because the Magic is where the magic is.
The Orlando Magic crushed the Hawks. I was a little anxious that perhaps the long layoff might hurt the Magic, but the hurtin was in Atlanta. Actually the rest seemed to be exactly what the Magic needed. For any Professional Team to lose 114-71 is unacceptable. Atlanta Hawks shame on you, and I love my Magic, but come on. You are a pathetic team, that never plays team basketball. By contrast the Orlando Magic played like a team, and Dwight Howard played like a dream, playing dunk ball all night long. So much fun to watch. I see brooms. The NBA Playoffs continue for the Orlando Magic.
Dwight Howard, the Defensive Player of the year in the NBA wrote that he is getting called for fouls more than any other star players. He may be antagonizing the refs, so this statement may not play out too well for the Orlando Magic going forward deeper into the playoffs. Almost everyone watching the Magic play the Bobcats would have to agree that many of the fouls called on Howard were borderline. The effect, however will be huge if he continues to foul out of games. How can you be the defensive player of the year in the NBA and constantly be out of games due to foul calls in the playoffs. Watch out refs, watch out Dwight: “Foul on You”.
Well, “Foul on You” Dwight Howard only scored 6 points, still having foul trouble in the 4th straight game, but the Orlando Magic can sit back and wait for their opponent in the next round of the NBA playoffs thanks to Vince Carter and Jameer Nelson who delivered points. Even Coach Stan Van Gundy said that if anyone had told him that if Dwight Howard would average well under 30 minutes per game for the series, and the Magic would sweep, he’d have said you were crazy. Yes, the Orlando Magic are that good. The brooms came out and now we wait and see. Yes I believe in Magic.
Some of my family members live and breathe the Orlando Magic. I love the Miami Heat. During the Miami Heat/ Celtics game, when all was looking lost for the Heat, of course I get a phone call with their “sad” condolences and a reminder that they had predicted a sweep. Of course they were talking about an Orlando sweep in the event that the Miami Heat should beat the Celtics. Now they were talking about a sweep by the Boston Celtics. At that point we went from a Heat 7 point deficit to a 10 point lead during the conversation. Ah Karma, and Dwyane Wade re-channeling his 2006 playoff experience. So maybe I have a tiny prayer to get to play The Orlando Magic with Dwight Howard now known as “Foul on You”. I love it. I’m not sure the Miami Heat have 3 centers like the Bobcats to frustrate him. Oh well, I’d like to get the chance to see. I know, a wing and a prayer.
