Goaltending

Stanley Cup-winner Martin Gerber has what it takes to hold off an onslaught from most any team out there, though he's only played one game in the 2005-2006 post season. Shown up last year by rookie Cam Ward, Gerber has a lot to prove. He did, however, shut out the Canadian Olympic team in the 2006 Turin games, stopping all 49 shots on goal.

Enforcers

Ottawa isn't known for its physical play, with snipers and play-makers like Wade Redden leading the defense. An interesting guy to watch this year will be newcomer Joe Corvo, who in shortly before his NHL debut in 2002 had some legal troubles due to a hot temper and fast fists. Watch Corvo closely; with a temper that ugly, who knows what he'll do under pressure?
