Dallas Mavericks tickets came within two games of bringing home an NBA Championship in 2005-06. The 7-footer was named to the All-NBA team and was near the top of the list for MVP. The only fly in the ointment was Nowitzki's performance against the Heat in the NBA Finals. For some reason, his numbers dropped off when crunch time came. That may be due to the fatigue of a long season so the Mavericks signed Austin Croshere to help give their star a breather and maybe keep his legs fresh late in the season. Croshere may not be a household name but he has a tendency to play well after the regular season, a talent the Mavericks will need if they hope to win it all this year.

Mavericks ticket holders certainly enjoyed their first trip to the NBA Finals. Who wouldn't? But losing the title, especially after going up by two games, had to leave a bad taste in their mouths. In the 2006-07 season the mavericks won't take anyone by surprise and are favored to win the NBA's Southwest Division again. The big questions are whether they can get past San Antonio again after barely escaping a 7-game series last year and if Phoenix will get enough of a boost from a healthy Amare Stoudemire to knock the Mavericks out of the top spot.
